Meeting: The 2016 spring HOA general meeting will
be held April 25th at 7 p.m. at the Newington Pool. Visit the Board/Covenants
page to review minutes from past meetings.
Yard of the Month:
Reviving the Yard of the Month award has been a challenging task.
We have so many neighbors with beautiful, well kept yards! But,
it has been fun to reward families for their hard work. If we didn't
get to you this year – please keep up the hard work and hopefully
we will be knocking on your door next spring.
Estate Closings: If you are a real estate representative
or a homeowner who needs a HOA dues balance or other information
for a Newington home closing, contact Mike Gobin at email@example.com
Dues Reminder: To avoid late charges, annual Newington
homeowner fees must be received no later than the end of January.
Homeowners must mail their $75.00 membership check (made payable
to NPEA) to NPEA, P.O. Box 654, Summerville, SC 29484. To update
your mailing address, or to obtain additional information on annual
member fees, contact Mike Gobin at 843-475-1066 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
to Newington? Contact Emily at email@example.com
or 843-343-2506 to receive a welcome booklet.
Personal signs (yard sales, lost pets, etc.) are
not to be stapled, nailed, or taped to Newington street signs. If
you wish to advertise a yard sale then use your own sign and place
it in the ground, not on the wood street posts.

& Recycling: In Newington, if you are in the Town limits,
the main trash pickup day which includes trash & paper recycled
goods is every Thursday. Yard debris is picked up on Wednesdays
(just pile it up on your curb—with no bags). Bulk items such
as furniture and “white goods” (appliances, hot water
heaters, etc.) which cannot be containerized or bundled are only
picked up on a “call basis” only. You must call Waste
Pro at 619-0800 to schedule these pickups. Obtain general information
on Garbage Pickups & Recycling by going to the Town’s
website at: http://www.summerville.sc.us/.
This excellent site also has good information of a variety of Town
subjects such as ordinances, the Farmers Market, and community events.
Overhanging Trees: Please cut all limbs that overhang
sidewalks or obscure street lights so they don’t become a
safety problem. Speaking of street lights, if you notice that
a light is burned out, report it to SCE&G at 800-251-7234.
Mailbox Posts: If you’re replacing a mailbox
post, the wood Newington post is available for purchase at the Berlin
Myers Lumber store on 350 N. Main Street. This is the same post
that is used in the Ashborough subdivision.
Reflective Vests: If you walk or bike ride after
dark, it is wise to wear a reflective vest or belt. We continue
to have reports of some very close calls between pedestrians and
cars after dark. This simple safety measure is very inexpensive
and quite effective.
Newington Tennis Players: Ashborough East tennis membership
is now available to Newington residents. Ashborough East has four
lighted hard courts. League teams are available as well as tennis
lessons for adults and juniors. Ashborough East is located off Dorchester
Road between Bacon's Bridge and Trolley Road. For information contact
Scott Bridgeman at firstname.lastname@example.org
